Musings In Act 111

Well, today I turn 60! WOW! How did that happen so fast? However, it happened here is where I am.

60 is an interesting milestone as you begin Act III of a 4 part play called life. Entering Act III, you have lived and had many precious moments. You also have gone through painful experiences and sometimes loss that you never thought you'd make it through, but you DID! With all that comes a lot of things you learn along the way.

As all this comes together, there are dreams you let go of, regrets you can get stuck thinking about and you may find yourself in a place you never thought you'd be. But take heart, because if you look carefully you have touched many lives and you've had a much bigger impact on those around you than you may realize. Moreover, you have an opportunity to make this next Act the best yet!

My Act III began with a weekend away to one of my favorite places Glen Rose Texas. My four adult children rented 4 cabins at a B&B owned by some of our closest friends. I just marveled that all my kids and grand kids would gather together, from across the country to love and celebrate me. As I sat there in the country in the early morning hours, I began to write out how I plan to live out Act III through what I have learned from younger days and I share that now with you, with the hope that whatever Act of life you are in you will find some nuggets that will benefit you.

Live life fully while you're here. No one knows how much time we have on this planet. Experience everything. Enjoy the little things. You'll learn they are really the big things. Take care of your family, your friends and yourself. Have FUN. Be CRAZY. Be WEIRD. Go out and take risks and screw up. You're going to anyway so you might as well enjoy the process. Be a learner. Everyone has something you can learn from. And while you'll learning, learn from your mistakes. If you learn from them nothing is a failure. Face your fears, they aren't real anyway. Face your problems and eliminate them. Press into the pressure. You are stronger than you think. Be kind to yourself and others. Love God and let him love you. That love will give you strength. It will fill in whatever you may lack. Do the little things well, then do the possible. Suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Don't try to be perfect, just be the amazing human being that you are.

Happy Act III Here for you, Clay
